Cycling Tours and Walks

The area offers some of Denmark’s most beautiful cycle tracks and walks. They can be found in for instance Grejsdalen, Jelling and Vejle Ådal with the Bindeballe Trail, by Fårup Sø, and last but not least in the woods around Vejle. “Himmelpind” is also worth a visit. From here, there is a magnificent view of the town of Vejle and Vejle Fjord.

The Bindeballe Trail
The Bindeballe Trail leads through the picturesque Vejle Ådal. The marked route is ideal for peaceful cycling tours and walks and it goes 20 kilometres west to Bindeballe Station and the Bindeballe Grocer’s.

Grejsdalen
Denmark’s deepest and probably most beautiful valley with steep hillsides and the small river of Grejs Å. About 7 kilometres from the centre of Vejle lies the preserved part of the valley, which enjoys magnificent and idyllic scenery as well as a rich bird life.

Fårup Sø
Every summer a very beautiful replica of a Viking ship, “Jelling Orm”, is at anchor near the shore of the Fårup Sø lake. Boat hire and angling are popular activities.

The Military Road
From the Middle Ages onwards, the Military Road, which runs along the ridge of Jutland from Viborg in the north to Schleswig in the south, was the main cattle drove trail, which is why it is also known as the Cattle Road.

Skyttehushaven
A beautiful park on the fjord with an octagonal pavilion from 1868. There is also a playground in the park.

Vejle Ådal
Randbøldal enjoys a marvellous setting at the bottom of the river valley of Vejle Ådal and offers wonderful walks to a number of barrows, the peaceful Randbøl Moor, the ”Staldbakkerne” hills and the large old Military Road with the St.Rygbjerg runic stone.
